Electrical conductivity of (Na3AlF6-40 wt%K3AlF6) AlF3 wt% melts

摘要
The electrical conductivity of Na3AlF6-K3AlF6-AlF3 melts was studied with a Continuously Varying Cell Constant technique (CVCC). The reliability of experiment device was validated by testing the electrical conductivity of molten cryolite. The melts contain 0, 20, 24, and 30 wt % AlF3 in (Na3AlF6-40 wt%K3AlF6) - AlF3 wt%, respectively. The superheat was about 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 degrees C. The results suggest that electrical conductivity of melts decreases with increasing of AlF3 content and with decreasing of temperature. Activation energy of conductance increases with increasing of AlF3. The electrical conductivity data in melts can be described by a simple equation of the Arrhenius type: Ink = A + B/T Where kappa represents electrical conductivity (S.cm(-1)), T is temperature (K), A and B are constants for the measured system.
