We report a one-pot synthesis of nitrogen heterocyclic compounds initiated by the allylation of the formyl group of bifunctional carbonyl compounds accompanying chemo-, regio-, and diastereoselective carbon-carbon bond formation in side chain moieties. Copyright © 2004 American Chemical Society.
