摘要
The dynamic mesh is the key to establish the numerical simulation model of the internal flow field in a scroll compressor. This study proposes a spring smoothing method to control mesh motion, and a new solution that an alternative profile is used to replace the algebraic spiral profile is proposed to solve the problem that formulations of the algebraic spiral are difficult to obtain an analytical solution. Afterward, a 3D transient flow model of a scroll compressor constructed from the algebraic spiral with pressure relief valves is established. The simulated model is validated theoretically and experimentally, and a good consistency is obtained. The simulated results are analyzed through pressure, temperature, and velocity. The asymmetric distribution will appear in pressure and temperature because wrap angles of the fixed and orbiting scroll are different. The pressure relief valves will open to discharge working fluid when the working chamber pressure reaches discharge pressure, and reduce the maximum over-compression pressure of 80 kPa compared to no pressure relief valve. However, the pressure relief valves will carry fluid from high-pressure chambers to back-discharge to low-pressure chambers. This phenomenon occurs near the radial clearance, which is equivalent to aggravate the tangential leakage.
