Defect structure and optical damage resistance of Mg:Ru:Fe:LiNbO3 crystals with various [Li]/[Nb] ratios

摘要
Mg:Ru:Fe:LiNbO3 crystals with various [Li]/[Nb] ratios([Li]/[Nb] = 0.946, 1.05, 1.20 and 1.38) were grown in air by the Czochralski method. The structure and composition were analyzed by the X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD) and inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). It was found that doping ions and the change of [Li]/[Nb] ratio cannot change the structure of crystal. The optical damage resistance of Mg:Ru:Fe:LiNbO3 crystals was studied by exposure energy flow method. The results showed that when the [Li]/[Nb] ratio of Mg:Ru:Fe:LiNbO3 crystals reached to 1.38, the optical damage resistance of Mg:Ru:Fe:LiNbO3 crystals is highest. The experimental results were discussed in detail based on the Li-site vacancy model. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
