Numerical study of a nonlinear integrodifferential equation

摘要
In this paper, by using the pseudo-spectral method of Fornberg and Whitham, a nonlinear intergrodifferential equations A(t) + 6AA(x) + 1/2\In epsilon\ integral (+infinity)(-infinity) A(x', t(.))/{(x' - x)(2) + epsilon(2)}(-1/2) dx' = 0 is investigated numerically. It is found that for small epsilon, the result is close to that of the KdV equation, whereas the effects of larger epsilon and the initial condition are significant.
