摘要
In this study, we have analytically shown that if the electron bunch length is in the 100-as range, the energy loss of the bunch is proportional to the square of the number of electrons in the bunch. If the number of electrons is large, the collective loss introduces a high-energy-density state in the target. The results were verified by carrying out 2D PIC simulations. (C) 2010 Elsevier B.V.
