X-ray diffraction study of the mosaic structure and carbonitrides in a titanium nickelide single crystal

摘要
Structural perfection of a single crystal of titanium nickelide Ti-51 at. % Ni has been investigated. The single crystal was shown to consist of blocks that have a plate-like shape. The dimensions, misorientation, and mutual arrangement of these blocks in the single crystal have been determined. Inclusions of titanium carbonitride were revealed in the crystal, their morphology was determined, and their arrangement in the plate-like blocks of the single crystal was studied. Orientation relationships between the crystal lattices of the matrix B2 phase and the carbonitride were established, and the chemical composition of the carbonitride and its volume concentration in the single crystal were determined.
