摘要
Tensile tests of as extruded (F) and as friction stir processed (FFSP) Al-Cu 2218 alloy are conducted at elevated temperatures from room temperature to 450 degrees C, respectively. From room temperature to 300 degrees C, F samples perform a higher tensile flow stress than FFSP samples, and this is resulted from an effect of natural aging. On the other hand, the stable FFSP microstructures promote grain boundary sliding to occur and corresponds to higher strain hardening exponents. The remarkable increasing in tensile elongation of AF at 450 degrees C is ascribed mainly to the occurrence of grain boundary sliding.
