An automated system for determining thermal parameters of metals and alloys

摘要：
An automated setup for determining the heat diffusivity of metals and alloys by a pulsed technique is described. In this technique, spatial distribution of energy in the laser beam is taken into account. This reduces the error of the determination to a few percent. The results obtained for iron and cobalt in the temperature range from room temperature to 1400 K are presented.
