摘要
In this paper we estimate the size of the Winny network (one of the most popular pure P2P file sharing applications in Japan) using a combination of network measurements and computer simulation experiments. For the measurement analysis, we use an improved maxk-recapture method to estimate the number of newly active Winny peers per unit time. We estimate the number of active peers in the Winny network by applying the actual measurement results to computer simulation experiments. The simulation results reveal that the Winny network had about 200,000 active Winny peers in October 2004.
