摘要：

In recent years, with the spread of smartphone usage (Android, iPhone) the need for onsite automatic character recognition systems have emerged. For foreign tourists in Japan, it is paramount to navigate their way around by capturing images of road signs and automatically recognizing them. Such users can them freely roam around without the need for tour guides. In this work, we propose a system that can recognize and interpret road navigation signs on a smartphone using Deep Learning.
