Multi-method investigation of the ordinary Portland cement hydration

摘要
In this paper phase formation and phase degradation during the hydration of Portland cement are investigated. This was done by determining both the consumption of the clinker minerals during hydration, and the formation of hydration products by means of a quantitative phase analysis using the Rietveld-method. Furthermore, the development of the ion concentration in the pore solution was observed and DCA-measurements were carried out. When combining these results with observations in the Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope with Field Emission Gun (ESEM-FEG) it becomes possible to characterize processes during cement hydration in a comprehensive way.
