摘要
Uterine rupture is one of the obstetric emergency complications affecting both the mother and fetus. Various risk factors contribute to the condition such as uterine scar and uterine anomalies, usually occurring in the late second and in the third trimester. However, it can occur in the first trimester which is extremely rare. Obstetricians should consider this diagnosis in a pregnant woman especially after ruling out more common conditions. Our case was a spontaneous uterine rupture at 13 weeks of gestation in a 28-year-old female. The initial impression was a ruptured ectopic pregnancy with hemoperitoneum. An emergency laparotomy revealed a ruptured uterus and the presence of a large amount of blood in the abdominal cavity. Clinical signs of uterine rupture in early pregnancy are non-specific and should be distinguished from acute abdominal emergencies.
