Synthesis, solid-state structure and reactivity of [PhTtPh]Cu

摘要
[Bu4N]PhTt(Ph)(PhTt(Ph-) = phenyltris((phenylthio)methyl)borate) reacts with [Cu(CH3CN)(4)]BF4, to yield [(PhTt(Ph))Cu . CH3CN], 1. In acetonitrile solution, 1 is monomeric. X-ray analysis shows that 1 forms an infinite, one-dimensional solid-state extended structure. Each copper ion is coordinated by three sulfur donors, two from one ligand and the third from a second ligand. The approximate tetrahedral coordination sphere is completed by an eta(2)-phenyl from the phenyl ring attached to boron on the ligand providing a single thioether donor. Although 1 is stable to O-2, and H2O, it reacts with PPh3, pyridine, or benzonitrile to yield the corresponding monomer, (PhTt(Ph))Cu(L) (L = PPh3, 2; py, 3; PhCN, 3). (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A.
