Wideband millimeter-wave antenna array for the 5G communication based on ME Dipole

摘要
A wideband Magneto-Electric dipole antenna fed by grounded coplanar waveguide (GCPW) is presented in this paper. The antenna is a two-layer structure, which contains a I-shaped slot on the top surface of the SIW as a magneto dipole, and several rectangle patches connected to the top surface of SIW as electric dipole. A wideband 2x2 ME dipole antenna array also is shown in this article. The feeding network is consist of a GCPW to SIW transition and a T-shaped divider with 180 degrees self-compensating phase shifter. In addition, the parasitic patch on the middle of top layer and several holes in the feeding network are also adopted to improve the wideband. The proposed antenna element in this paper achieves an impedance bandwidth of 36.2% (28.9-41.7GHz) and average gain of 7dB. The measured impedance bandwidth of the antenna array is16.4%(29.1-34.3GHz) with peak gain of 13.2dB.
