摘要
Improvement of diesel engine fuel economy is resulting in an increasingly lower exhaust gas temperature. In this study, the correlation between various catalytic reactions and the low-temperature activity of an oxidation catalyst was investigated. Zeolite was added to the catalyst to enable HC adsorption with the aim of achieving high HC conversion performance even in the low exhaust gas temperature region. The results indicate that the HC adsorption capability of zeolite influences some elemental reactions at low exhaust temperatures. Based on this knowledge, an oxidation catalyst was developed for diesel engine use that provides better low-temperature CO oxidation performance in addition to improved HC conversion.
