WikiRiskMan: A Framework for Project Risk Management

This paper proposes WikiRiskMan, a wiki-based framework to support risk management in projects, considering the PMBoK((R)) processes. Tools based on the web 2.0 platform, such as wikis, have revolutionized interpersonal communication in the last years, facilitating collaborative work and taking advantage of collective intelligence. However, these tools remain misunderstood and underutilized by most project managers, who centralize risk management using traditional tools, focusing on one-to-many communication. WikiRiskMan aims to capture the many-to-many interaction patterns between project participants and increase the effectiveness of risk management processes. The use of this tool can facilitate communication, produce and manage documentation, speed up the preparation and conduct of meetings, discussions, planning and decision making, among other risk management activities, reducing the workload of project managers.
