摘要
Different manufacturing industries apply different phases of new product development process to fabricate their consumer products. Although smart-related aspects in Industry 4.0 are already integrated with information technology for improving productivity and transparency, toy product safety is merely assessed in the new product development process. This paper discussed the problems of current "new" product development process in manufacturing industries, as well as explored how smart product development approach with four implementation steps could further improve the toy product safety.
