摘要
Since the reform and opening-up, Chinese government has made great efforts to build up the social security system that operates in accordance with the socialist market economy. For recent years, the social security system has attained its target of broad coverage and then began to upgrade its quality. The system building should give its priority to the system qualities over its quantities. The interactive study of the social security and social stratification can provide a new perspective for improving the quality of the system. Social security system can be regarded as a stratified system, and social stratification defines, to some extent, the building of the social security system. Thus, some characteristics of social stratification have made a considerable impact on the system, which then may lead to welfare stratification. Through the study we can get an insight into their principles respectively and realize positive interactions between social stratification and the social security.
