摘要：

We propose an architecture of a Home PC taking advantage of MPEG-2 over ATM hardware. Home PC has an ATM bearer capability and MPEG-2 decoding function for high qualify audio-visual service embedded in add-on board, classical IP[1] function for data service, and native ATM([2]) function for real time video-telephony service. Proposed Home PC architecture is suitable for entertainment device, individual information gatekeeper, and interactive communications tool.
