Preparation of Polyacrylate Thin Films Containing Zirconia Nano-Particles and Their Optical Properties

摘要
The surface treatment of zirconia nano-particle was carried out by two procedures of bead milling and ultrasonic irradiation with vinyl trimethoxysilane and 2-methacryloxyethylisocyanate as finishing agents, correspondingly. Especially, the dispersion of zirconia nano-particles with 8.5 nm diameters in methyl ethyl ketone was prepared by organic modification via the formation of a urethane bond with 2-methacryloxyethylisocyanate and hydroxyl groups on the particle surface. The zirconia nano-particle dispersed multi-functional acrylates with a photo radical initiator were coated on a PET film, and photo-cured with UV irradiation. These polyacrylate films containing zirconia nano-particles showed a high refractive index.
