摘要：
Todesrasseln durch nicht mehr transportierten Schleim in den Atemwegen kommt in den letzten Lebenstagen relativ haufig vor. Auch wenn angenommen wird, dass Sterbende durch die Bewusstseinseinschrankung nicht darunter leiden, gibt es keinen sicheren Beweis, ob und wie die Rasselatmung empfunden wird. Angehorige sind durch die Gerausche oft gestresst und befurchten Luftnot oder Angst. In der SILENCE-Studie kam eine Rasselatmung seltener und spater vor, wenn regelma ss ig Scopolamin injiziert wurde.
