Insertion of CS2 into M-S bonds and its application in synthesis of clusters

摘要
The insertion reaction of CS2 into M-S bonds leads to the formation of thioxanthate ligands (RSCS(2)-). A series of novel silver and copper cluster complexes with various sterically hindered ligands have been synthesized by insertion of CS2 into part of a set of M-S bonds in polynuclear compounds (MSR)(n) (M=Ag or Cu). The mononuclear insertion products (PPh(3))M(S(2)CSR) (M=Ag or Cu) react with various solvents to give a series of unusual cluster complexes. The features of these reactions, the factors influencing the reactions and the reaction mechanism have been discussed. Several novel large cadmium cluster complexes have been synthesized by reacting of cadmium thiolates with CS2 in solvents.
