Tc-99m MDP uptake in stage D adenocarcinoma of the colon

摘要：
A 65-year-old woman was seen for left upper quadrant pain. Radiographs of the chest and abdomen were normal. A Tc-99m MDP whole-body bone scan revealed a ring-shaped area of uptake in the anterior aspect of the left upper quadrant and a faint area of increased uptake in the posterior aspect of the right upper quadrant. ACT of the abdomen revealed a mass in the proximal descending colon with metastases to the liver. Endoscopic biopsy proved this to be adenocarcinoma of the colon.
