摘要
Precision manufacturing is a challenging process in which high accuracy is required. Wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) is one of the most vital machining processes in which precision manufacturing are possible. During wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM), machining surface needs to be more precise to maintain surface integrity, thus surface and layer should be evaluated for better surface integrity. In this investigation, recast layer thickness is evaluated from numerical simulation. The Martensitic layer thickness is analyzed by quantitative expression approach for D2 steel, the results obtained by numerical simulation is compared and validated with existing published research. Further results shows convergence with validation and equation used to identify martensitic layer thickness, in present investigation it was also observed that the recast layer thickness and martensitic layer thickness increases with increase in current intensity.
