Sub-Terahertz Performance for Beyond 5G in Indoor Environments

摘要
THz and sub-THz (100-300GHz) communications are prospective technologies discussed for beyond 5G and 6G networks. At these frequencies, some of the main challenges are its propagation conditions (e.g., high molecular absorption and poor diffraction), and the limited coverage due to limited transmit power in combination with wide bandwidths. This paper evaluates coverage, available bitrates and capacity of an indoor network using 100 GHz carrier frequency. The conclusion is that THz bands are an alternative to support indoor scenarios in the 6G timeframe.
