摘要
Since the traditional claw-pole generator has disadvantages, such as leakage flux, low-output performance under a low-speed condition, and inefficiency, a hybrid excitation claw-pole generator for vehicles is invented. Through permanent magnets inserted among claws, this new kind of generator can not only prevent leakage between the claw poles, but it can also increase the generator output capability. The air gap magnetic field is accordingly adjusted by the DC field current to regulate effectively the induced voltage. The principles of parallel structure by means of a 3D finite element electromagnetic computation will be discussed in this article. To predict the electromagnetic performances of the machine more accurately, a new transient co-simulation approach under consideration of indirect field circuit coupling is proposed. The prototype experiments show that it is possible to obtain voltage regulation ranges, confirming that the excellent field-regulation capability can constantly provide output voltage at wide speed range for batteries charging, which has broad application prospects for vehicle generators.
