摘要
Thomas Mann's 'Zauberberg' presents an experimental situation. The novel appears as a laboratory in which experimental arrangements play out which cultural repertoire of patterns, of constellations, of discourses related to love is available and can be negotiated. The article elaborates on how in 'Zauberberg' the iterative difficulty associated with love is presented, how in love configurations people are objectified and things are anthropomorphized. It also focuses on the ways in which the novel connects to traditional topics of love as illness and how the concept of Eros is entangled with that of Agape.
