Preparation of ceramic foam filters via direct foaming

摘要
A potential novel method to manufacture ceramic foam filters is introduced. Ceramic foam is prepared by direct foaming of liquid slurries with non-ion surfactants and gel-casting. The relationship between the porosity and open cell porosity of ceramic foams after direct foaming and sintering is investigated. Ceramic foams with high open cell porosity (more than 92%) and high compression strength are manufactured by this method. They can meet the standards of ceramic foam filters.
