摘要
OFDM has been widely regarded as an effective modulation technique for providing reliable high-data transmission over frequency selective fading channels. Adaptive bit and power allocation combined with adaptive transmit diversity can achieve further increases in system's performance. In this paper, we propose an adaptive bit and power allocation with transmit diversity for broadband MISO/OFDM communication systems. By employing adaptive bit and power allocation on each sub-carrier, the maximal SNR on each sub-carrier obtained by adaptive transmit diversity is further maximized through adaptive bit assignment and power assignment on each sub-carrier under the constraint of power and overall bit rate. Simulation results show that the proposed system can achieve better performance than an adaptive transmit diversity based OFDM system without adaptive bit and power allocation over multipath fading channels.
