摘要
Commonality is the key point in the product family design. Many firms find it difficult to balance different factors in the process of a new product development within a product family. The function and specification decomposition method combining with the weight-center theory of fuzzy sets has been used in determining the commonality between the new developed product and the existed product platform. This new approach can approve the precision of common components, modules or process.
