摘要
Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) is an approach to software development that makes the software portable, interoperable and reusable. In solving business problems, there are three distinct roles in a development team-the business analyst, the application designer, and the database designer. Due to their differences in responsibilities and knowledge, each role solves a business problem by a different method. Thus communication between these roles is difficult. However, a unified modeling (MDA) between the roles can reduce miscommunication and development time while improving quality. These days in many software developments, the roles of business analyst and application designer have been unified by MDA. However, people seldom use MDA to develop their databases. In this paper, we present the Supply and Sales database modeling based on MDA. We provide a UML (Unified Modeling Language) data modeling profile to describe relational database; build the PIM (Platform-Independent Model) of the Supply and Sales database; transform the database from the PIM into the PSM (Platform-Specific Model); and implement the PSM to the physical database of the Supply and Sales system.
