Formation of a New View of Ecological Tourism

This article is devoted to the formation of a new view on ecological tourism as a rapidly developing direction of tourist activity in the world. The current concept of ecological tourism, built on the principles of sustainable development, does not fully reflect current trends in the development of nature and society. Among them, the need to preserve the natural and cultural heritage as a result of the destructive effect of increasing anthropogenic load, there is a change in the motives of preferences of modern ecotourism on the properties of value and attractiveness. We present the results of research on the genesis of the problems of the formation and development of ecological tourism. The subject of the study was the process of greening sustainable tourism development. The methodological basis of the study consists of the principles of sustainable development of tourism, as well as methods of analytical and comparative analysis, expert evaluation. Based on the research results, the authors identified factors and specific criteria for ecological tourism, clarified the concept of "ecological tourism", a distinctive feature of which is the use of categories of value and attractiveness from the standpoint of the ecological paradigm. The practical significance of the results obtained lies in the objective need for the formation of new approaches to the development of tourist ecological routes.
