Influence Factors of Hypertension among the Elderly in the Community Based on Logistic Model

To understand the prevalence of hypertension and related factors in the elderly in Changchun city, and to provide a scientific basis for developing prevention and control strategies of hypertension in the community, 348 elderly patients in Mingzhu community health service center of Changchun city were selected for questionnaire survey and physical examination. Single factor X-2 test and multi factor unconditional logistic regression analysis were conducted on the possible influencing factors of hypertension. The prevalence of hypertension was 45.7%. The results of logistic regression analysis showed that body mass index (BMI), living alone and with children, smoking, general and poor self-conscious health status, chronic pain were the risk factors of hypertension, and living in elderly care institutions were the protective factors of hypertension. The prevalence of hypertension in the elderly in this community is still not optimistic, and the intervention and health management of hypertension should be strengthened.
