摘要：

The petroleum exploitation, at the production level as well as at the refining process, produces important amounts of oily wastes that have a "mayonnaise-like" mud appearance, called slops oils. These slop oils are very stable inverse water emulsions in crude oil containing solid sediments. The proportion of each of the three phases is very variable from one slop oil to another, however, the watery phase is often majority, from 40 to 80% of the mixture.
