Antisemitism in the German-language press of Argentina

The escalation of antisemitism in the Third Reich was reflected in a wide range of German-language publications edited in Argentina. This article examines the diverse perceptions on this phenomena from the militantly National-Socialist to the most virulently anti-Nazi. It analyzes images and ideas about Judaism and the relationship between German Jews and their homeland prior to the "final solution". It shows the coincidences, discrepancies, and changing alignments between parties at the time. Even though the positions that these parties later took may appear evident in retrospect, they emerged from a period of indefiniton.
