摘要：
Chronic Rhinosinusinusitis is a wide-spread disease causing a high impact on the quality of life of affected patients as well as healthcare cost. The underlying pathogenesis is not yet fully understood; however, many contributing factors could already be elucidated. The aim of this review article is to promote the role of the epithelium in the patho-genesis of chronic rhinsosinusitis. It gives an overview of the different contributors to the barrier and its interaction with the subepithelial inflammatory cells and cytokines.
