Dielectric characteristics of MgFe2O4 ferrite prepared by sol-gel auto-combustion method

摘要
Single phase MgFe2O4 polycrystalline sample was prepared through sol-gel auto-combustion method. The auto-combusted powders were sintered at temperatures 1423K in air to study the dielectric properties. The sharp and single peaks in the XRD pattern indicate the good crystalline quality and single phase of the material. Electrical properties of the synthesized sample were studied by AC conductivity and electric modulus measurement. The imaginary part of electrical modulus with frequency at different temperatures evidences the presence of two dielectric relaxation at lower temperatures The step-like dielectric anomalies are observed in the epsilon'(T) and epsilon"(T) plot. The resistive grain boundaries effect is predominant at low frequency by electron exchange between Fe-ions. Electrical conductivity of MgFe2O4 was increased with the temperature showing semiconducting nature. The reciprocal temperature dependence of sigma(dc) follows Arrhenius law. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd.
