摘要
The information on yaks, with particular reference to their health is very scarce. A study conducted at the National Research Centre on Yak, Arunachal Pradesh, India, on the seroprevalence of infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) in yaks (Poephagus grunniens) revealed that the overall prevalence of IBR in yaks was 40.80%. The prevalence was higher among females (42.05%) than male yaks (37.84%). The prevalence of IBR was highest in yak cows (54.39%) followed by yak bulls (37.84%) and yak heifers (2857%). The prevalence of IBR was higher (43.53%) among animals reared at a lower altitude (West Kameng district, 2751 masl) than those (35.00%) reared at higher altitude (Tawang district, 3 500 masl).
