摘要
The text focuses on senior education which must not be ignored at present times characterized by ageing of population. The necessity of continuous and life-long learning and self-development, which has become a priority in the present system of education, is linked with the necessity of learning and speaking at least one foreign language. Teaching in courses in foreign languages given to seniors has to be adapted to the specific features of adult learners. The author presents her personal theoretical and practical experience in teaching English in U3A courses with the aim to mention positive aspects but also obstacles and limitations caused by senior involution which have to be taken into consideration by teachers involved in the U3A courses.
