Methylene group increments of the Gibbs energy of solution of hydrocarbons in water and aqueous micellar solutions of surface-active substances

摘要
Methylene group increments DeltaG degrees (CH2) Of the standard Gibbs energies of solution (3.7 kJ/mol), vaporization (3.0 kJ/mol), and hydration (0.7 kJ/mol) of n-hydrocarbons in water were determined. The contribution of hydrophobic hydration was found to amount to similar to 23% of DeltaG degrees (CH2) for the Solution of hydrocarbons. The difference of the DeltaG degrees (CH2), values of solubilization of liquid (similar to -3.0 kJ/mol) and gaseous (similar to -1.4 kJ/mol) hydrocarbons in aqueous micellar solutions of sodium alkyl sulfates was explained by the dual properties of micelles.
