摘要
Lecture videos provide a good way to increase flexibility for participation in education. With the help of lecture videos and other technologies that provide support for study based on videos, it is possible to create a ubiquitous learning environment where study can be blended to the student's daily life, anywhere and anytime. Lecture videos can be cost-efficiently produced from face-to-face teaching sessions, and thus it is also possible to keep face-to-face education as one of the alternatives for study participation. Education realized in this way gives the education provider an opportunity to support more individual participation alternatives. To use face-to-face teaching as production environment offers many advantages, but it also brings with it many challenges to the video production process. More challenges are created from the change that the study with the help of videos brings for example to interaction and formation of groups. This paper describes the solutions for ubiquitous learning environment in connection with the Master Studies in Mathematical Information Technology at the Kokkola University Consortium Chydenius. Special focus is on the production and distribution of lecture videos as well as on the technologies that are needed to support study with the help of lecture videos. In addition, the paper considers the impacts due to the ubiquitous learning environment.
