摘要
Kinetics of oxidation of dopamine (DPM) by sodium N-chlorobenzenesulphonamide (chloramine-B or CAB) in perchloric acid medium has been studied at 40 degreesC. The rate shows first order dependence in [CAB](o) fractional order in [DPM](o), and inverse fractional order in [H+]. The effects of dielectric constant and solvent isotope have been studied. Michaelis-Menten type of kinetics have been proposed and activation parameters for the rate determining step have been computed. A mechanism consistent with the observed kinetics is proposed and discussed.
