摘要
Energy represented and still represent the engine of progress for human society. Unevenly distribution and differentiated access to resources, over time, led to the emergence of power centers. So in the last century the world was bipolar, unipolar and then multipolar. Because resources are limited and need to get them is becoming larger, at global level we have tensions due to access to resources or even situations where resources, especially oil and natural gas, are used by states as instruments of power in relation to other states. States are now seeking solutions to ensure energy security and, by default, national security, individually or in various politico - military alliance. Energy, in the current geopolitical and geostrategic context turns into a real weapon, used by states to achieve foreign policy objectives.
