Magnetic phase diagram and temperature dependent Ising-axis conversion of DyCu2 single crystals

摘要
We present susceptibility, magnetization and magnetostriction data that were obtained on a single crystal of DyCu2 with external fields applied in all three principal crystallographic directions of the orthorhombic compound. The magnetic phase diagram for fields parallel to the Ising axis (a-axis) was determined in detail. Measurements of magnetization and magnetostriction in higher magnetic fields along the c-direction show a conversion of the Ising-axis. The conversion field is temperature dependent. Annealing of the crystal above 200 K recovers the original behavior. However, repeated cycling results in a stepwise non-reversibility of the process. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
