Anorexia nervosa, a body shape's story

Anorexia nervosa is characterized by global impairment of body representations, whether the body schema or body image. Development of a distorted body schema is linked to anomalies in the multisensory integration at the right parietal cortex. Disruption of the neural network involved in the representation of his own body could lead to a self-recognition disorder. Attention should be paid to cognitive remediation therapy, to the extent that some degree of reversibility of these cognitive distortions have been identified.
