摘要：

In this paper, the complexity of software maintenance is analyzed in the context of the theory of algorithms. Maintenance is considered as a part of the software life cycle, while characteristics of maintenance are included in software quality attributes. This study is aimed at the development of efficient software metrics that reflect properties of maintenance, allowing one to better organize this process on the base of the theory of algorithmic complexity and the theory of programs.
