摘要
This paper proposes a smart scalable and low-cost Fruit Fly Monitoring System adapted to the Mauritian context in response to harmful fruit flies infestation. It has been developed in collaboration with the Entomology department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mauritius. The system provides real-time statistics on fruit flies count per bait trap as well as environmental parameters. The proposed system is composed of several components; the IoT module for collecting data, a storage component which stores the data on the data on the cloud, an analytic component to procure trends and patterns in the data and a visualization component where all the information about the IoT module is displayed to the users on a mobile application and a website. Upon deployment, very conclusive results have been obtained.
