摘要
This paper aims to present the way in which mixed methods have become a third research paradigm that helps create bridges between the quantitative / qualitative dichotomy and how they are the methodological basis for the public policies and social programs evaluation. All this, from a concrete example such as "Transitional Solutions Initiative" Program that was developed in Colombia between 2012 and 2015. The document will delve into the methodological approach of the evaluation carried out for this program by a Colombian consulting firm, as well as the results of this evaluation, and the reflection that result from the contribution of mixed methods to policy decisions.
