摘要：

CAI (Computer Aided Instruction) is an advanced teaching approach that has been used in many universities over the world to some extent. However, CAI in solidification theory has not reported until now. In this paper, a new teaching method that is based on the solidification simulation software has been developed. Fluidity of casting alloys, Directional solidification, Residual stress and deformations during and after solidification are demonstrated vividly with the software. Results show that the CAI is of Intuitive, attractive and low cost and can be used in classroom before the real experiments as auxiliary means to help university students to understand the knowledge of the abstract theory of solidification.
